We have bad news for players looking forward to the release of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. It turns out that we'll have to wait a long time for the game - maybe even until 2023.
This information comes from the financial report of Ubisoft. In the section on productions Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is marked as a title that will debut in fiscal year 2022-2023, which is between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023. It is worth noting that no specific quarter was given, so at this stage of work, the publisher is apparently unable to predict when the game will be completed.
Also the developers took the floor. The official Twitter of the brand published a statement, in which the team assures that work on the project continues. The creators also promise that soon they will share materials showing the progress.
It must be itted that the game's development cycle proved to be extremely bumpy, especially considering the fact that it is a remake of an old game. The project was announced it was announcedthat the title will be released in this fiscal year, that is, by the end of March 2022, but as you can see, this promise will not be fulfilled either.
The source of the problems probably lies in the fact that the announcement of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was received very coldly - the players updated materials were shown, which looked better, but still left much to be desired. Since then, the project has went off the radar, so we suspect that a decision has been made to completely revamp the game. This process probably takes more time than expected.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC version will be sold on Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store.
