Performace issues in Civilization 7. Civ 7 won't launch and crash
Civ 7 has become available, yet many players experience problems with performance, issues with launching the game, and crashes. Let's assess the situation to check if there is anything to be done to fix it.

One of the most popular series on 4X landscape is without a doubt our review. Among other issues, the most pressing ones are crashes or even the inability to launch the production. Let’s try to gather all the facts and check if there are any possible solutions available.
Performance issues, crashes and launch problems in Civ 7 explained
After almost a decade of hiatus, Civilization comes back with its seventh full installment. However, it is not a glorious premiere that everyone expected, but one ridden with bugs and other problems like performance drops, crashes, or even the game not launching at all. Is there anything that can be done about it from our end?
Sadly, it appears that we are powerless. There are numerous reports by fans using machines with different operating systems like Windows, Linux, or even Mac, various specs from low to high end, yet Civ 7 tends to malfunction for people from all of those groups.
There are players who advise turning off steam overlay or even disconnecting the internet, however it’s not a silver bullet for everyone. Another possibility is to change whether the title should utilize DX12 or Vulkan API. This can be set during the launch attempt, but it also does not yield the same result for all. As always, it is recommended to keep your drivers, especially GPU, up to date.
If everything fails, a valid option is to open a ticket with the developers on their official site. Checking out the latest news on Civ’s Discord server or X is also a good idea. Let’s hope that future patches will sort out the problems that fans are experiencing and the creators will make up for this difficult launch somehow. Good luck!
