Microsoft Acquires Activision Blizzard
Microsoft will purchase the holding company Activision Blizzard. Publisher of games such as Call of Duty: Vanguard and World of Warcraft will end up under the wings of the Redmond giant for a huge amount of money.
There were rumors about this, but no one seemed to believe them. However, it happened - Microsoft announced that it will buy Activision Blizzard in a cash transaction for a substantial amount of 68.7 billion U.S. dollars ($95 per share). After this transaction, the Redmond giant is to become the third largest video game company in the world. Importantly, Bobby Kotick will continue to serve as CEO of Activision Blizzard.
