However, working with Clint Eastwood on the set of the 1995 American romantic drama The Bridges of Madison County was a unique experience for her – one she will never forget and that inspired one of her other performances.
In a 2023 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Meryl Streep revealed that Clint Eastwood’s way of working inspired her improvisation in The Devil Wears Prada, specifically that she whispered her lines, which shocked the other stars on set. Apparently, this is exactly how Eastwood works on set – without raising his voice.
In an earlier interview, Meryl Streep noted that Clint Eastwood, as a director, is very subtle and allows actors to feel comfortable even while directing them. However, in the Entertainment Weekly conversation, the actress itted that on the set of The Bridges of Madison County, he made an exception and it frightened everyone present.
