Planetary Annihilation Veterans Work on New 'World-class' RTS
The developers behind Planetary Annihilation have announced Industrial Annihilation, a full-fledged sequel to this popular RTS from 2014. We learned details about the game.

Do you the popular real-time strategy game Planetary Annihilation? If so, then you will certainly be interested in the fact that after many years the game will get a sequel. The work on Industrial Annihilation - because that's the title of the game - was announced by developers from Galactic Annihilation, a team that includes several veterans responsible for the original from 2014.
The developers have launched a fundraiser on StartEngine, designed to help complete the project. In addition, the developers are encouraging pre-orders on the game's official website.
"Planetary Annihilation is one of our most beloved games, which has received a great deal of interest from the community since its inception. Given its incredible success, we felt it was time for a new game that would enable us to innovate and update the original vision. It was important this time to give our loyal players the opportunity to own part of the company behind the production, and we are working hard to gain the same level of community with the reveal of Industrial Annihilation on StartEngine," says Jon Mavor, co-founder of Galactic Annihilation.
You can check out the trailer for the RTS below.
According to the developers, in Industrial Annihilation players will be dealing with a real-time strategy game, with an extensive factory creation system playing an important role.
"Become a master of building factories that dictate your style of RTS play. Stock up on resources with a giant Titan-level unit or bet on a game-ending planet crusher. Create the best assassin squad or expand your artillery to devastate your opponent with tactical nukes. The choice is wide and up to you," the game description reads.
Industrial Annihilation will provide us with a single-player campaign, during which we will lead one of the factions available in the game. Each of them will have unique combat units, fighting styles and strategies. In turn, cooperative and PvP battles will await lovers of network play.
The game will also offer us the possibility to activate the so-called combat artificial intelligence, which will take over for us on the battlefield, and thus enable us to focus on the economic side of the gameplay.
Industrial Annihilation is scheduled to debut in early access in the second quarter of 2024..
