Heliborne is an online game about helicopters coming to Steam Early Access
An interesting title is coming to Steam Early Access. Heliborne is a historically accurate multiplayer game that will let us pilot helicopters from 1950s to 2000 and take part in actual conflicts, including the Vietnam War.
Gearing up for release in Steam Early Access is Heliborne, a historically accurate multiplayer game about military helicopters. In of gameplay, the title aims to hit the sweet spot between simulation and arcade, letting players fly around as helicopter pilots and engage in combat with enemy ground forces. The early version, which is going to be available on February 15th, will feature 31 choppers, 3 major mission maps (Operation Nguyen Hue, Afghanistan, and the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnam), and 2 game modes.

Ultimately, JetCatGames’ debut production is going to showcase the evolution of rotary wing aviation since 1950s to 2000. The final version is said to offer more historical maps and conflicts, extra game modes, a progression system and helicopter customization and updated flight model. Moreover, the developers are planning a transition from Unity 4 to Unity 5 engine (also used in Dreamfall: Chapters).
Heliborne will stay in Early Access for at least a year, so we shouldn’t expect the full release earlier than in early 2017.
