Twitch and Facebook Gaming viewership is up significantly from last year, thanks to, for example, GTA 5 and New World.

Streamers have had a very successful month. A report prepared by StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg shows that s watched 1.7 billion hours of content on Twitch in September, which is 20% more than a year ago. The audience of Facebook Gaming has increased by half, although with the result of a little over 500 million hours it is still far behind Amazon's service.

A lot of the credit for this goes to video games, although the Just Chatting category remains the most popular section on Twitch (thanks in part to the ever-growing interest in... ASMR). The undisputed leader was - to no one's surprise - Fortnite.
New World rounds out the list, which should come as no surprise in the context of the excellent launch of Amazon's MMORPG. Still, 39 million hours of streams watched is a phenomenal result for just three days (although you have to the beta test streams). What's more, New World continues to attract a large audience. At the time of writing this text, it is the fifth most popular category (and fourth game) on Twitch with nearly 82 thousand viewers. There is a chance that the title will keep the players for longer, especially since Amazon Games Studios is preparing further improvements.
