Ghostbusters 3 Makes Director of the Original Proud
Ivan Reitman, the creator of the original Ghostbusters, had the opportunity to preview the latest installment of the series directed by his son and the screening evoked many positive emotions.

We are curious if you are aware of who exactly Jason Reitman is who is working on the latest installment of Ghostbusters. Not only is he the creator of great dramas like Tully or Juno, but most importantly he is the son of the director of the original Ghostbusters, Ivan Reitman.
We mention it not without a reason, because the author of the Ghostbusters: Afterlife shared a charming story on Empire, connected with his father, who had a chance to see the preview screening of son's latest work. And, what else to say, apparently he liked it a lot:
“My father hasn’t been leaving the house much because of Covid, but he took a test, put on a mask and drove down to the Sony lot to watch the movie with the studio. And after, he cried, and he said, ‘I’m so proud to be your father.’ And it was one of the great moments of my life.”
We do not know what kind of father Ivan Reitman is - whether he is a strict and demanding person, or warm and eager to praise. But if Ghostbusters. Afterlife managed to move one of the main creators of the series to tears, Jason probably managed to capture the characteristic atmosphere and charm. The official trailer looks very encouraging and, in places, resembles Stranger Things, so we're looking forward to the premiere, scheduled for June 11, 2021.
