Dinkum console release will be soon? PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch ports explained
Dinkum was released on PC in version 1.0. Can we expect PS5, PS4, Xbox and Switch ports, though?
After two long years, a Dinkum left early access. Of course, version 1.0 brings some novelties like creative mode, plane or fresh buildings such as Bug Terrarium. So, it’s a perfect time to try this game. Unfortunately, there is one problem – this title is available only on PC. What about consoles, though? Will we receive a port?
Dinkum console (PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch) release explained
You can’t play Dinkum on consoles right now. However, there is a chance that this will change in the future. In the announcement posted on the official Discord server, developers informed that they plan to bring the game to one more platform and we will learn more about it later this year.
Thanks to the growing number of players enjoying Dinkum, we've received many requests to bring the game to more platforms beyond PC. To live up to such expectations, we're thrilled to reveal that we've been working toward that goal. We hope to deliver some exciting news about releasing Dinkum for one of the popular gaming consoles later this year.
As you can see, creators didn’t specify on what console Dinkum will be available. With no more details, it’s really hard to predict. Well, the high probability is for the current gen console – PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S. Let’s that the latter has Game subscription, which often features various indie games. On the other hand, developers can also decide on Nintendo Switch. In this case, though, we have two potential options. Switch 2 will be released in June (so later this year). It means that Dinkum can be one of the first titles released on this platform. Nevertheless, the first Switch is still a very popular console with a huge playerbase.
However, PS4 and Xbox One owners can cool their enthusiasm. Both of these consoles are simply too old to become the first choice of developers.
Unfortunately, Dinkum requirements are not the lowest. While they are not extremely high, the game will not run on every PC. You can check the demo on Steam to how your computer handles this title.
