Cyberpunk 2077 With Prettier Visuals Will Require a Powerful PC
The release of enhanced ray tracing in the PC edition of Cyberpunk 2077 is approaching, and representatives of CD Projekt RED and Nvidia have shared more details related to the „technology of the future.”.

Last week's Game Developers Conference 2023 featured a on Cyberpunk 2077. While discussing the revolutionary technology, numerous interviews were given by Jakub Knapik (art director from CD Projekt RED) and Pawel Kozlowski (senior programmer and technology engineer from Nvidia), who were present.
- During the conversation with a PCWorld journalist the men discussed in detail the most important issues related to Ray Tracing: Overdrive mode, including its system requirements. These are sizable, and not every PC owner will get a taste of the technology of the future.
- According to Kozlowski, to run Overdrive ray tracing, we will need hardware equipped with GeForce 40-series GPU. This is because only they DLSS 3 technology, which can sufficiently take care of the game's performance.
- A small consolation is that Ray Tracing: Overdrive will not be reserved exclusively for GeForce 4090. Nvidia's technology engineer reassured that their goal is that this mode, and without significant fps drops, can also be enjoyed by owners of weaker chips such as the RTX 4070.
CD Projekt RED has revealed the release date for enhanced ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 on PC during "Cyberpunk 2077 RT: Overdrive - Bringing Path Tracing into the Night City." Ray Tracing: Overdrive will be made available on April 11. Unfortunately, no new footage was presented at the conference to showcase the capabilities of Nvidia's technology, so we can't help but wait patiently for the release and rely on the last year's trailer.
- Some players are worried that games like Cyberpunk 2077 could get banned in US under the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act (IODA) bill
- One of the gigs in Cyberpunk 2077 raised questions even at CD Projekt RED. „I would say that if you never have that discussion, you're probably not making art”
- „We tried, and it didn't work out.” CD Projekt RED has come to with its fate, confirming that it won't stop making games like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk
