Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Won't be Like The Witcher 3 DLCs
The CEO of CD Projekt has let out the secret about the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, and as a result, fans of the game have started to throw around ideas about the expansion.

Phantom Liberty. Some of them can be found in a recent interview of CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski for Parkiet [in Polish] and a recent investor call [in Polish].
- The DLC is expected to offer "a lot of new content."
- CD Projekt has decided to develop only one, but very large expansion. For this reason, investors have been asking whether the size of the DLC for 2077 will be the same as both expansions for The Witcher 3 combined. However, Adam Kicinski stated that the design and nature of Phantom Liberty are different from that of Blood and Wine, which is why it is impossible to directly compare the size of the DLCs for the two titles.
- The company makes no secret of its satisfaction with the renaissance of Cyberpunk 2077. It estimates that this is due to both the popularity of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, as well as the overall improvement of the game's quality with patches. A big change in the game's reception was already evident after the release of patch 1.5 in February this year (that's when the next-gen version was released), and update 1.6 only reinforced this trend.
- Adam Kicinski is not interested in selling CD Projekt to another entity, or even looking for investors. According to him, the sales of the company's existing games is enough to finance work on future projects.
Players throuw around ideas for content of Phantom Liberty
As you can see, the information on Phantom Liberty is limited, but nevertheless the vision of this DLC flares up the imagination of fans. In response to reports about the different nature of the expansion compared to add-ons for The Witcher 3, Reddit of Cyberpunk 2077 was filled with player reflections on what they expect from the DLC and what it should include.
- Among other things, fans want the map to be enriched with new locations, including building interiors.
- They also want expanded options for modifying everything in the game - from cyberware, through weapons to vehicles.
- Others express hope that the DLC will expand the epilogue of the basic campaign and offer new romance options.
- There is also no shortage of voices believing that in addition to fresh content, the expansion should also introduce improvements to gameplay mechanics, especially AI of enemies, as well as add random events to Night City.
- Regarding the different nature of the DLC, players speculate that this is due to the fact that in the DLC for The Witcher we visited entirely new regions, while Phantom Liberty will only unlock previously inaccessible city districts, only expanding them.
Recall at the end that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released next year, exclusively on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
