Age of the Ring, has recently received a major update.
First version 8.0 was released, and soon after that we got patch 8.1. This is one of the most important moments in the history of this mod - because it is finally completed. The authors realized all their plans and in the future we can expect at most bug fixes. It took the developers more than 6 years to reach this stage and now they are ready to tackle other projects.
Huge project
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II - The Rise of the Witch-King. The project is huge.
- The mod introduces new armies (the latest in the form of Rhun was added in version 8.0), units, heroes and spells.
- The number of factions has been increased to 11 - some of them are completely new, while others were created by dividing existing sides of the conflict (e.g. Rohan and Gondor are now separate nations with full unique armies), which strongly diversifies the gameplay.
The project improves all campaigns from the base game and the DLC, as well as adds a new one, set in the time of the Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers. In addition, the strategic War of the Ring mode has been heavily expanded and improved. In addition to solo play, we can also enjoy all these changes in multiplayer, which uses the structure of the fan project T3A:Online.
Age of the Ring is one of the most ambitious and best polished RTS mods ever made. In scale and quality of execution, it at least rivals The Rise of the Witch-King and provides the perfect excuse to revisit The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II..
- A modder is bringing back multiplayer in RDR for PC. The project is expected to offer heavily customized gameplay
- FromSoftware's big mistake has been fixed. Elden Ring: Nightreign now has two-players mode thanks to a mod
- X-wing from LucasArts returns with a modern makeover thanks to XWVM team
- Someone rebuilt the Scuttling the U-529 mission in Unreal Engine 5 and now I desperately need a full Medal of Honor remake
- Stellar Blade hasn’t even launched on PC yet, and the best mod might already be here
