Bethesda disassembled original ESO server into 2,000 parts and is selling each for $110
Bethesda prepared a truly unusual anniversary commemoration for fans of the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online.
Players can obtain a piece of the first server of The Elder Scrolls Online from 10 years ago.
This unique event is part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the MMORPG in Tamriel's world - technically a bit delayed, since the game launched on PCs in 2014 (and reached consoles a year later). Nonetheless, this can also be associated with the major changes in ESO, which will happen in this still popular title in 2025. Thousands of subclasses are also heading to the game.
Yesterday, via Kotaku, the official Bethesda store (Bethesda Gear Store) added "The Elder Scrolls Online 10-Year Anniversary Keepsake" to its offer. It's not about a piece of code, but a part of the original game server, which was disassembled into 2,000 "tiles" of RAM and then packed in "velvet and a representative box" made of wood. The whole is complemented by a zinc commemorative plaque.
Bethesda is charging 110 dollars for this gift, and it will be shipped in June. This is definitely a gift for the biggest fans of Tamriel... although we could argue that enthusiasts of this or that brand (or star) have paid much more for less intriguing items.
