Age of Empires 4 Unexpectedly Debuts on Xbox

During gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, Microsoft surprised gamers by releasing a console version of Age of Empires IV.

At the gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 there was no shortage of surprises for RTS fans.

  1. At the show we saw the trailer Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition, a refreshed version of the popular RTS.
  2. Then it was announced that this edition has just been released on Xbox X and Xbox Series X.
  3. This marks the debut of AoE4 on consoles. It came as quite a surprise. We knew that the game was heading to the XSX/S, but until now Microsoft had been silent on when that would happen.
