An action adventure platforming game from the Thunder Lotus Games studio, known for Spiritfarer, Sundered and Jotun. At Fate's End allow us to play as Shan, travelling the world and defeating her brothers and sisters. In addition to using weapons, we can also defeat opponents using... words.
At Fate's End is an action adventure game in the style of a platformer. It is a project made by Thunder Lotus Games - an independent development studio from Canada, which has games such as Spiritfarer in its portfolio.
In At Fate's End we watch the action from the side.
At first glance, the game does not stand out with anything special against the background of the genre scheme. We go through locations, jump on platforms, avoid traps and by terrain obstacles, as well as engage in conversations with NPCs and fight battles with opponents. The fights are dynamic, and on the battlefield we must be constantly moving, avoiding the attacks of adversaries and launching quick counterattacks with the sword.
Nonetheless, At Fate's End draws attention due to its unusual system, which allows us not only to eliminate enemies in hand-to-hand combat, but also to engage in "tactical" conversations with them. If we skillfully lead a given conversation, it can allow us to "defeat" the enemy without shedding his blood. However, for this to happen, we first need to acquire the appropriate knowledge (even about the secrets of our interlocutor, male or female), in order to gain a psychological advantage over him (or her).
As we progress, we gather power swords of power, which develop the protagonist. Our actions and the choices we make determine how we will achieve them, as well as how our adventure will unfold (and end).
The main character of At Fate's End is Shan, a young heiress of the Hemlock clan, equipped with a legendary sword - Aesus. The protagonist begins a journey during which she will have to confront her degenerate siblings and decide the future of her lineage.
The graphic design of At Fate’s End is maintained in a cartoon style characteristic of the works of Thunder Lotus Games studio.
